Bart on St Jean - 2003
This is the classic "smack Job" face that Barty makes when he is all full of himself.

Mr. B loves to go for a ride in the car....any car. On this particular day we were in the Filao parking lot and were getting ready to go to the Match.

In May, I got up every morning to take advantage of the early light. Barty insisted on going with me.....I let him drive.
Ricky G and Barty B - 2001.....my man was skinny then but still had a smack job face.St Jean - 2001
This was Mr. B's first or second year. He had very long legs. It was about this time that he drank too much ocean water and became very ill. He lost one pound in a few days. Luckily there was a vet on the island who knew what to do.St Jean - 2004
When we are on the beach, Barty will dig a hole in the sand, usually under a chair, and lay down in the cool wet sand.

There are several local dogs that regularly hang out on the beach in St. Jean. If you are a visiting dog, you have to watch out because chiens are inderdict!

Mr. B is a pretty good traveller. I give him 1/2 of a Benadryl and he sits right under my seat. If the stewardess is not looking, I sneak him up next to me under a blanket.
Coctail Hour / Les Ilets - 2008
Les Ilets is a great place for Barty. It is cut of from major roads, so he can pretty much walk around freely. He often walks off and hangs out with other people.....but at 5:00pm, he always seems to find me for dinner.
My dog  Bart was named after St Barts.  His official AKC name is Bartholomew Prince of Gustavia.  Bart is 10 years old and has been going to SBH at least once every year since he was born.  He is a joy and a pain in the ass all rolled up into one.   Luckily for us, St Barts is an incredibly "dog friendly" island.  Dogs are welcome almost everywhere.  Bart goes out to dinner with us every night (his favorite is The Wall House) and he has met several doggie friends on the island.  These days, dogs are not allowed on the beach.  Its a funny law because there are a number of friendly local dogs who play on the beach every day.  The trick is to stay in a hotel or villa on the beach........
Now that Bart is a little older, he helps me out as a photography assistant.  He carries my equipment, holds lighting, and drives for me.  I don't let use my cameras though, because he schmears his nose all over the display screen.
